About
This airline was a Colombian airline that was founded in 1992. In 2005, Copa Airlines acquired Republica and in 2010 it changed to the name Copa Airlines Colombia. Copa Airlines Colombia's main base is at El Dorado International Airport with a further hub at Jose Maria Cordova International Airport, Medellin. Other airlines that fly from the airport include Wingo and Satena.
Copa Airlines Colombia has codeshare agreements with AeroMexico, Cubana, Gol, KLM, Condor and Air Panama.
Baggage Rules
Depending on the route and destination, the baggage allowance rules varied for AeroRepública flights.
For domestic flights, passengers in Economy Class were permitted one piece of checked baggage weighing no more than 23 kg (50 lbs) for free. Business Class passengers were allowed up to 2 pieces of checked baggage, each weighing no more than 32 kg (70 lbs).
The baggage restrictions for international flights varied depending on destination and ticket class.
Cabin Class
AeroRepública has two cabin classes to offer - these were Economy and Business class.
Economy Class
AeroRepública offered comfortable seating with adjustable headrests in its Economy Class cabin. Seats had a pitch of approximately 31 inches.
Passengers could enjoy complimentary snacks and beverages on international flights.
In-flight entertainment wasn't offered in Economy Class.
Business Class
For more luxury, passengers could book Business Class fares with AeroRepública.
Seats were more spacious with a pitch of 38 inches and more legroom than Economy Class.
Passengers flying Business Class with the airline had access to priority boarding and a dedicated check-in counter.
Hot meals were offered as well as complimentary alcoholic beverages for international flights. This also included a separate menu for premium wines and spirits.
You could also expect a high level of service from the AeroRepública cabin crew in Business Class - pillows and blankets were provided to add comfort to your flight.
In-Flight Entertainment
AeroRepública did not provide any in-flight entertainment to its passengers. Passengers were advised to bring their own forms of entertainment such as books to read or TV shows/movies downloaded to portable devices.
Frequent Flyer Program
AeroRepública had its own frequent flyer program called "Suma". With this program, passengers could earn and redeem miles for flights and other rewards. Suma had different tiers of membership - these were Basic, Silver, Gold and Platinum.
Higher levels of membership could be earned by flying frequently with the airline. Each tier offered additional benefits such as priority check-in, boarding and baggage handling as well as access to airport lounges.
Suma also offered a family pooling option - this would allow members to combine miles with those of their family members to reach rewards faster.
When AeroRepública became Copa Airlines, the Suma loyalty program was replaced with Copa's own program called "ConnectMiles".
Airline Alliance
AeroRepública was not part of any airline alliance however it did have codeshare agreements with several airlines including Delta Airlines, Iberia and TACA Airlines.

El Dorado International Airport was the hub airport for AeroRepública and is located in Bogotá, Colombia. It also acts as an important hub for Avianca, Copa Airlines, LAN Colombia and Satena. Other airlines also fly to this airport, including American Airlines, Avior Airlines, Wingo, Iberia and United Airlines.
