LAX’s car rental facility is located at the Consolidated Rent-A-Car site, which opened in 2024. It can easily be accessed through the courtesy shuttle buses that travel to and from the airport.
To reach the shuttle buses, follow the purple Rental Car Shuttle signs outside baggage claim.
Please note that, due to its recent opening, not all of LAX's suppliers have moved to the Consolidated Rent-A-Car site yet. Make sure you're getting the right shuttle bus, as some will be travelling near the Rent-A-Car site but not to it.
Top Tip: You don’t have to be flying to or from LAX to collect a car rental from the airport. LAX’s many rental options make it popular even with people not travelling through the airport! 💡

Providing your flight number safeguards you from unforeseen circumstances that could result in the loss of your car rental.
If your flight is delayed or cancelled, you'll be late for your car rental pick-up. By providing your flight number, your supplier can track your flight location and hold your vehicle if you don't arrive on time.
How to return a rental car at Los Angeles Airport?
To return a car rental to Los Angeles Airport, either follow the signs to the Consolidated Rent-A-Car facility or type the name of your chosen supplier into Google Maps.

To get to LAX's National car rental pick-up point, follow the purple Rental Car Shuttle signs. This will lead you a little outside baggage claim. From there, get the National Shuttle Bus.
For those not coming from the airport, you can reach National by heading to the following address: 9020 Aviation Blvd, as National hasn’t yet fully relocated to the Consolidated Rent-A-Car facility.
