About Air Philip

Established in 2016, Air Philip was a South Korean airline that offered both domestic flights throughout South Korea. The airline was based at based at Gimpo International Airport (GMO), Seoul and had plans to fly international routes to a number of countries in East Asia, including Japan and China. based at Gimpo International Airport (GMO), Seoul. Air Philip received its first aircraft in January 2018 — an Embraer ERJ-145 jet. The South Korean airline completed its first pilot flight in March of the same year and later flew its inaugural flight with a service between Gwangju Airport (KWJ) and Gimpo International Airport (KWJ) in June 2018.

Baggage Allowance

Carry-on Baggage

Passengers flying on Air Philip are allowed to bring one item of free carry-on baggage with them on their flight. The baggage must weigh no heavier than 8kg and the dimensions must be no larger than 35 x 25 x 15 cm. Air Philip ask passengers not to bring any items on board that can be used as a weapon.

Checked Baggage

Passengers flying on Air Philip are allowed two items of checked baggage per person. The baggage must weigh no heavier than 15kg and must fit within the overall dimensions of 150cm.

Class Fares

Air Philip had only one class on board its flights; Economy Class. This was laid out on the ERJ-145 aircraft in a 2-1 formation, with the aisle down the middle.

Destinations

Air Philip currently flies to the following domestic destinations:

  • Seoul Gimpo
  • Jeju
  • Gwangju
  • Seoul Incheon
  • Muan

Previously, the airline flew to international destinations such as Vladivostok (Russia) and Okinawa Naha (Japan) but the airline suspended international flights in February 2019. However, the airline plans to resume flights to Vladivostok in the near future.

Air Philip operate first flight

Air Philip flew its first ever last week on a service between Gwangju Airport (KWJ) and Gimpo International Airport (GMP). The South Korean airline will fly between Gwangju and Seoul twice a day using its ERJ-145 equipment. The airline is expected to increase the frequency that it flies this route throughout summer. Air Philip have listed a flight duration of one hour for this route.
