Xiamen Airlines, the sixth largest airline in China, has been formally invited to join the powerful SkyTeam global airline alliance with a target date of December 2012 for completion of the membership process to achieve full integration.Xiamen is a growing city in East China and Xiamen Airlines currently operates a predominantly domestic flight programme wuth a few international routes to Taiwan, Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia), Osaka (Japan), Seoul (Korea) and Singapore. Xiamen has a large fleet of all boeing aircraft which is growing with new orders placed to complement its current fleet of 78 aircraft. Membership of SkyTeam allows Xiamen Airlines passengers to earn and redeem Frequent Flyer Miles throughout the SkyTeam network, utilise the network of worldwide lounges and also facilitates easy interlining of checked through baggage on all alliance carriers.. The airlines of SkyTeam are Aeroflot, Aeromexico, Air Europa, Air France, Alitalia, China Airlines, China Eastern, China Southern, Czech Airlines, Delta Air Lines, Kenya Airways, KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, Korean Air, TAROM and Vietnam Airlines.
