Wind Jet

Wind Jet

Wind Jet is a low cost airline from Catania in Sicily operating Italian domestic flights and to North and Eastern Europe.

Wind Jet Flights

Wind Jet was formed in 2003 and is currently the fourth largest Italian airline in terms of passengers carried, and operates to thirteen national and a further thirteen airports in North and Eastern European. The airline operates from its three hubs in Catania, Forli and Palermo from where most the whole network is served. Forli is the main hub on mainland Italy and serves as the main connecting point for airports that have limited flights, allowing connections to most of the network. The airline is privately owned by the Finaria Group. Passengers enjoy a free baggage allowance of 15kgs on domestic routes and 20 kgs on international services. Wind Jet operate a fleet of modern Airbus aircraft seating either 142 or 180 passengers.

Wind Jet Fleet

Wind Jet operates an all Airbus fleet of twelve A319 and A320 aircraft. This airline has a great network connecting many of Italy’s main towns and cities to destinations including Russia, Czech Republic, Holland, Belgium, Spain, France, Romania and Belgium. Wind Jet operate on a hub and spoke basis with the three focus hubs being in Palermo, Catania and Forli though it is more likely that Forli will be the main connecting point for the airports in Italy that only operate to a hub. In line with all low cost airlines the lead in fares do sell quickly so book early to avoid disappointment. You usually have a choice of fares with the cheapest being totally inflexible and nor refundable through to the top price "flex" tickets which do allow some changes and may be refundable. The only down side to this great operation is that Wind Jet do not fly to the UK, Amsterdam and Brussels are the nearest point, we won’t hold it against them-we’ll still promote and sell their flights. See the "look and book" section for availability and prices.

It's awful to see an airline, which was one of the best, deteriorate within a season to one which we say 'book with caution".
