Avianca Brazil has announced that it will launch its first international route in November 2010 with two daily flights on an Airbus 319 aircraft between Sao Paulo and the Colombian capital, Bogota.

Avianca Brazil is owned by Brazilian group Synergy, which is the primary shareholder in the combined Avianca/Taca Airlines group.
"Colombia is already a 'hub' for flights in Latin America. The Brazilian passengers may use the main connection point for the Caribbean and North America," said Avianca president of Brazil, José Efromovich who is the brother of Bolivian Brazilian Efromovich Germain, and the largest shareholder in the group.
Avianca Brazil, formerly Ocean Air, will be the third Brazilian company to operate international flights alongside TAM and Gol-Varig. During 2011 the airline is planning to add six new aircraft to the the current fleet of 17 Airbuses they use to operate domestic routes in Brazil.
Avianca of Colombia has already announced plans to perform more flights to Spain, including extra flights between Madrid and Medellin
