Holidaymakers looking for something a little different from their break in 2011 may want to take advantage of a recent announcement from
Viking Hellas.

The airline has revealed that this summer, it will be offering flights to Erbil and Sulaimayniah in Iraq from Manchester.
On departing from the north-west city, passengers will travel to Athens in Greece before getting a connecting flight to their final destination.
The journey will be made by the carrier twice a week from April 1st to September 30th 2011.
Managing director of
Viking Hellas Roger Gatt said the company has "built a strong following amongst passengers wishing to travel by the most direct route from Manchester to these two developing cities in Iraq". He explained that the airline first started providing these scheduled services last summer.
The company is based in Greece and flies to destinations in the Mediterranean, the Middle East, north Africa and northern Europe.
