Viking Airlines is a low cost airline that flies from Sweden to holiday destinations in Greece and Turkey.
Viking Airlines flights
Viking Airlines began flying in 2003 at which time the fleet comprissed of two McDonnel Douglas MD-83 airplanes each seating 161 passangers in leather-clad seats. In 2004 a further MD-83 joined it’s sisters with the 4th being added in 2006. Whilst the airline is based in Sweden, Viking Airlines operates two aircraft from each of it’s bases in Greece- one at Heraklion on the island of Crete and the other at Athens International Airport.
Viking Airlines in leather
Not many low cost airlines offer much in by way of flying comforts but we think Viking Airlines does, their leather seats and a FREE meal on flights of over 3 hours should make them worthy of serious consideration. Don’t count on the drinks being free though!! Viking believes that all of it’s customers should have a pleasent flight with them and to that end they have set their own high standards and to ensure those exacxting standards are achieved they actually train their own flight deck and cabin crew. If fact the only other airline in Scandinavia to do this is the mighty SAS.
