The results of a new survey could inspire people to book a flight with Vietnam Airlines and visit the Asian country.
According to the results of the 2011 Wanderlust Readers' Travel Awards, Hoi An has been voted the second top city in the world.
The destination, which is located on the Vietnamese coast, was beaten to the top spot by Luang Prabang in Laos, which received a rating of 96 per cent and retained its position in first place.
Hoi An came ahead of Kyoto in Japan
and Wanderlust pointed out that Asian cities "dominated" this category in the awards, with Stockholm and Vienna being the only two European locations in the top ten. There are plenty of things to entertain visitors to Hoi An and according to Forbes magazine, it offers some of the "world's most luxurious beaches".
The Scottish city of Edinburgh came in 11th place.
