Vacationers looking for some excitement on their next break abroad might consider booking a trip to Vietnam with Vietnam Airlines, as one writer has said the country has "lots" of surprises as well as stunning scenery.
Travel writer Mary Anne Ostrom noted that tourism in the country has "taken off", which is making it a particularly popular destination for holidaymakers, reports the Mercury News.
"We love surprises and Vietnam has lots of them," she stated.
Among the attractions she listed were the stunning mountainous jungles and the "gorgeous beaches".
There are also some spectacular caves that visitors to the country on Vietnam Airlines planes can head to.
Those who have flights to Hanoi purchased may want to head to the city of Dong Hoi, which she said is often overlooked by travellers, despite the fact that it is a very scenic location.
In the most recent Travel & Tourism Competitiveness Index compiled by the World Economic Forum, Vietnam jumped nine places from its 2009 position.
