Travellers looking for cheap flights to Hanoi during next year's Tet festival have been urged by Vietnam Airlines to book early to avoid disappointment.
According to the firm, flights to Hanoi that coincide with the popular lunar new year festival, which is celebrated on the same day as Chinese new year, are already selling well.
The airline is already considering putting on more flights to Hanoi and other Vietnamese cities during the festive period, which always sees unprecedented levels of demand for travel, reports Vietnam Net.
This year, Vietnam Airlines was one of several operators who scheduled extra flights during Tet.
However, demand still far outstripped supply and many were unable to get seats on the dates they wanted.
Officials in Hanoi are already set on improving public transport in the city so that it can cope with peak tourism seasons.
Currently, one million people use the city's bus network each day, but the city hopes to increase that figure to 3.62 million by 2020.
