For example, holidaymakers can try kayaking, sailing and water sports, rock climbing and mountain biking without having to go too far from their accommodation, while great restaurants and nightlife are available a stone's throw away.
Furthermore, gap year travellers will not be too stranded if they run short of cash, as Ms Sessions added that work permits and part-time jobs are easy to come by.
Adventurous vacationers could also try the Cliffwalk at the Capilano Suspension Bridge, which opens in Vancouver this week.
