Following a high level diplomatic meeting between two Heads of State, Turkish Airlines have been encouraged to look at starting a new route between Istanbul and the Zambian capital, Lusaka.

This report follows recent developents where Turkey's national air carrier Turkish Airlines has announced the start of flights to Ghana on July 15 2010. The airline will fly from Istanbul to the capital city of Accra through Lagos, Nigeria. The THY Turkish Airlines flights flights will be flown four times a week, on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. Accra has become THY's 127th destination in its overseas network and the airline continues to develop routes to major African cities as a priority.
