Holidaymakers who have booked a trip to Russia on a Transaero flight may be among those travellers who need to brush up on their tipping etiquette.
Research conducted by TripAdvisor indicated that 60 per cent of Brits are unaware that they are supposed to tip overseas.
Emma O'Boyle, a spokeswoman for the firm, noted that many people from the UK fail to do their research before booking flights to Moscow or other destinations around the world.
"It is very important to know what's expected while you're away, particularly as many service staff rely heavily on tips," she commented.
She urged travellers from the UK not to overlook the differences in tipping customs when exploring another country.
According to travel supply provider Magellan, those dining in restaurants in Russia should leave a tip of between ten and 15 per cent.
It also advised visitors to the country to round up taxi fares when paying the driver.
