Demand for Transaero flights to Moscow could rise as the city vies to become a hub for business conferences in the region.
However, according to Lidia Begunova, an expert in the hospitality industry, demand for conference space is so high that many leading hotels will have to expand their offerings if they are to meet business flyers' needs.
Speaking to the Moscow Times, Ms Begunova, who is director of sales and events at the Hotel Baltschug Kempinski, said: "We are a little bit short of conference spaces."
The hotel is already planning to double its conference space between now and 2012 - which could increase the need for business flights to Moscow on the likes of alternative airlines such as Transaero.
A number of international hotel groups, like Rezidor and Raddison, have recently opened operations in Moscow as the market for conferences grows.
Moscow is also striving to become a centre for the arts, with a recent exhibition at the Central House of Artists showcasing works from 40 international galleries.
