Russia’s most innovative and western facing airline, Transaero Airlines, are Russia’s only operator of Boeing 747 Jumbo Jets. From its first flight in 1991 and its incorporation as Russia’s first privately owned airline, Transaero Airlines has been at the forefront of bringing Russian Aviation into the 21st Century.

Transaero operate a modern fleet of Boeing aircraft including 747’s, 767’s and 737’s. With a hub at Moscow’s very modern Domodedovo Airport and double daily flights from the (not so modern) Heathrow Terminal 1, Transaero have recently concluded a code share agreement with with British airline BMI (from Heathrow) and onward connections to Kuala Lumpur with Malaysian Airlines. As well as being a classy choice for point-to-point flights to Moscow, Transaero are especially useful for getting to the oil fields of Sakhalin Island (Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk) or the Borat promoted country of Kazakhstan (Aktau, Almaty, Astana, Atyrauand Karaganda).

Run by a very dynamic husband and wife team plus a third entrepreneurial Main Board Director; their success has been forged by combining strong old-fashioned Russian Airline management with innovative Western marketing. Personal experience of exceptionally friendly staff at Moscow’s Domodedovo Airport and lots of space onboard most flights from London make this an airline to thoroughly recommend.
