Swedish Airline, Tor Air, which flew flights to and from Iraq, has ceased flying after having its operating license revoked by the Swedish Civil Aviation Authority. The failure of TorAir follows the recent cessation of flying by competing Greek carrier, Viking Hellas which also flew services from Europe to Iraq. The financial status of both carriers is currently unclear and it is possible that either or both may be able to resume services if re-financed in the future. At the same time low cost carrier, FlyDubai is increasing its services to the region with new services planned to Baghdad and Najaf likely to be added to their existing flights to Erbil and Sulaimaniyah from Dubai.
