A series of major infrastructure upgrades for Tivat and Podgorica airports in Montenegro have been given the go-ahead by the country's government.
Some EUR 164 million (£143 million) will be spent on overhauling the airports, which is likely to result in an increase in the number of tourists booking flights to Montenegro.
The work will be ongoing for the next two decades and will be carried out by the Halcrow Group, which has worked on similar projects - including improving Edinburgh Airport in the UK.
Phase one of the project will run until 2017 and is expected to cost in the region of EUR 62.7 million.
Some EUR 40 million will be spent directly on improvements to Podgorica Airport.
Amongst the changes are plans for longer runways, larger passenger terminals and a marked increase in parking spaces.
Podgorica could be becoming a destination for the rich and famous, as multi-millionaire financier Nat Rothschild recently celebrated his 40th birthday in the city.
