Holidaymakers considering booking Precision Air flights to Africa to watch the migration of wildebeest across the Masai Mara may be encouraged to learn that greater security provisions have been made at the game reserve.
The authorities in Kenya and Tanzania have increased the number of patrols in the area in a bid to reduce the number of poaching incidents, reports the Guardian.
Brian Heath, chief executive of Mara Conservancy, revealed that the number of vehicles permitted to enter the reserve has also been cut.
Some 4,000 tourists, who may have arrived on Precision Air flights, are expected to visit the spot each day for the next two months.
Mr Heath observed that hotels and camps in the game reserve, which is one of the best places to view animals such as lions, leopards and elephants, are already fully booked during the peak season.
While in Tanzania, adventurous holidaymakers may want to consider scaling Mount Kilimanjaro, which is the highest free-standing mountain in the world.
