Travellers flying with TAM Airlines may have a greater number of options when selecting their destinations after the firm announced it has entered into a new codeshare agreement.
Jetsetters heading to and from destinations in Spain will have a better range of flights to Madrid, Barcelona, Santiago de Compostela, Bilbao, Malaga and Tenerife-Norte under the deal.
Paulo Castello Branco, vice-president of commercial and alliances at TAM Airlines, stated that the Brazilian carrier is in the process of expanding its international network in Europe.
"We will be able to provide to our customers greater convenience and comfort with the offer of an extra five destinations in Spain," he asserted.
In 2009, TAM Airlines - which is the largest carrier in Latin America - carried more than 30 million passengers on domestic and international flights.
The airline may be the company of choice for those travelling to and from Brazil in light of figures published in March by the National Civil Aviation Agency of Brazil, which showed that the firm had over 85 per cent of the international market share in terms of passengers per kilometre flown.
