TAM Airlines to offer more flights to Brazil

Holidaymakers planning a break in Brazil may find they have greater flexibility with regards to their flights as TAM Airlines plans to double its direct overnight services from London to Rio de Janeiro

Flights to Sao PauloThose making use of the new TAM Airlines services will be able to travel on Airbus A330 planes, which feature 223 seats, including a First Class cabin for business travellers.

According to the carrier, the extra trips from Europe to South America have been added to its schedule to cope with the growing demand for transport to Brazil brought about due to the nation's strong tourist trade and improving business opportunities.

TAM Airlines first started to offer direct fights from the UK capital to Rio de Janeiro in August last year, but due to the popularity, the capacity will double from August 2nd 2011.

In 2014 a surge of travellers are expected to converge on Brazil for the Fifa World Cup, which is being held in South America for the first time since 1978.
