One of the main attractions for those booking SpiceJet flights to India for a holiday in the country is the Taj Mahal, new figures suggest.
According to photo agency Alamy, the World Heritage Site is the seventh most photographed building on its website, with 8,544 images of it uploaded.
The mausoleum, which is inscribed with passages and text from the Qur'an, is currently one of the New Seven Wonders of the World, which places it alongside Machu Picchu, the Colosseum and the Great Wall of China.
Located in Agra, the Taj Mahal is widely regarded as the greatest example of Mughal architecture, blending Persian, Turkish and Indian influences.
Alan Capel, head of content at Alamy, recommended that those with Spice Jet flights to India who want to take snaps of buildings such as the Taj Mahal or the Konark Sun Temple in Orissa should try to get images with local vendors in to add an air of authenticity to their pictures.
