TACA Airlines launch Cusco to Arequipa and Puerto Maldonado

 

Taca Embraer 190The expanding Latin American airline, TACA has announced new domestic services from its regional base in the historic city of Cuzco to the popular tourist destinations of Puerto Maldonado (Madre de Dios) and Arequipa.The new flights from Cuzco to Puerto Maldonado will operate daily with the service from Cuzco to Arequipa flying three times a week on Monday, Tuesday and Friday. Both services will be flown using aircraft from TACA's Embraer 190 jet fleet.

 

Cuzco is one of the world's famous tourist destinations situated in south eastern Peru, near the Urubamba Valley of the Andes mountain range. It was the site of the historic capital of the Inca Empire; awarded UNESCO World Heritage Site status in 1983 and is the popular starting point for visitors to the spectacular ruins at Machu Picchu.

Arequipa is the beautiful capital city of the Arequipa Region in southern Peru and the second largest city in the nation. Famous for the stunning backdrop provided by the proximity of volcano El Misti, Arequipa is an important city for tourists with over 1,000,000 visitors every year including many who are journeying onwards to the impressive - and very deep - Colca Canyon.

In the far south Eastern corner of Peru, Puerto Maldonado is a city in the Amazon rainforest from which there is easy access to Manu National Park, Tambopata National Reserve and Bahuaja Sonen National Park.
