Baboo, the swiss regional airline based in Geneva, has been taken over by Darwin Airline, based in Lugano.

The combined company will continue to fly Baboo’s network and will retain the name Baboo for some of its services. The deal, for an undisclosed sum, will be completed in early 2011. The enlarged Darwin airline will have more than 20 destinations, mainly in Switzerland, Italy and France and will operate 6 x SAAB 2000 aircraft and 2 Dash 8 Q-400 Bombardiers. Darwin will continue to use Lugano as its base, with an operating base in Geneva. T
