

Jetsetters thinking of booking flights to Bogota to explore Colombia may be among those who should take note of one expert's assertion that all travellers should consider the impact their stay will have on their destination.
Dan Linstead, editor of Wanderlust magazine, explained that green travel is "about being a good guest" and said everyone benefits if tourists are respectful of the locations they head to on their breaks.
"Who wants to be denied the possibility of walking in a rainforest, snorkelling a coral reef, or tramping up a wild mountain side - just because those who have been before have trashed the place,"
he asked.

The archaeological site - which predates Machu Picchu by 650 years - features 169 terraces carved into the mountainside and a number of tiled roads and circular plazas.
