Jetsetters thinking of booking flights to Bogota to explore Colombia may be among those who should take note of one expert's assertion that all travellers should consider the impact their stay will have on their destination.
Dan Linstead, editor of Wanderlust magazine, explained that green travel is "about being a good guest" and said everyone benefits if tourists are respectful of the locations they head to on their breaks.
"Who wants to be denied the possibility of walking in a rainforest, snorkelling a coral reef, or tramping up a wild mountain side - just because those who have been before have trashed the place,"
Those who book Avianca flights to Colombia and plan to go to historical sites such as the Ciudad Perdida may want to plan their break so there is no trace of their trip in light of Mr Linstead's comments.
