Adventurous jetsetters with a passion for wildlife may want to book Rwandair flights so they can take a trip into the jungle to spot gorillas.

According to David Hewitt, communications manager at the Gorilla Organisation, seeing these creatures in their natural habitat is a "life-changing experience".

He noted that there are treks designed to provide travellers with access to the creatures and that the country is "safe and keen to welcome tourists".

"It's easy to see why this is such a popular activity among international travellers," Mr Hewitt stated.

He added that those who opt to book flights to Kigali and travel on to the mountainous regions to find gorillas will be helping the creatures and local communities.

This is because it provides income to people in the area - such as trackers and guides - and puts funds into development projects.

There are currently less than 1,000 mountain gorillas in the wild, so a trip to spot them may be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
