Generally, the ideal time to book flights for a sports event is 2-3 months in advance, however, it all depends on the type of event you're planning to attend. If you want to book flights to see big, popular events, like Formula 1 races or the Olympic games as an example, you'll want to consider booking your flights at least 6 months in advance to grab the best flight prices and seat availability.
