SpiceJet of India go with big Boeing Order

SpiceJet one of India's largest low-fare airlines has ordered 30 new aircraft from Boeing worth between $2.7 billion-$3.0 billion to be delivered between 2014 and 2019,
Rival low fare carrier. IndiGo also has plans to expand its fleet size and had earlier this year received an initial government approval to buy 150 aircraft.
SpiceJet, has recently come under the controlling ownership of media baron Kalanithi Maran who bought a 37.73% stake in the company and made an open offer to acquire another 20% to take control at the carrier.  Currently SpiceJet has a fleet of 21 Boeing planes and will likely add seven more before April 01st 2011 and operates  191 daily local flights to 19 Indian cities with plans to start international operations in September, this year.
