Growing national carrier, Senegal Airlines has this week re-started flights to neighbouring capital of Mauritania, Nouakchott from its base in Dakar using an Airbus A320. The new service will fly five times a week. At the same time, the national carrier Mauritania Airlines International is launching a reciprocal twice weekly service (Sundays and Thursday) from Nouakchott to Dakar, using a Boeing 737-700 aircraft.
Senegal Airlines started flying in January, 2011 with 2 x Airbus A320, aircraft and has since increased it fleet to 3 x Airbuses A320 and one ATR 42-500. From its home Base in Dakar, SENEGAL AIRLINES already operates flights to Abidjan, Bamako, Banjul, Bissau, Conakry, Cotonou, Dakar, Douala, Libreville, Niamey, Ouagadougou, Praia and Ziguinchor.
