A new national carrier replacing the defunct Air Senegal International has been launched by the Government of Senegal.

The new airline based in Dakar, will carry the name, Senegal Airlines. The airline plans to start scheduled services within Africa and to Europe in 2010 and the airline will operate a new fleet of aircraft to destinations in Africa and Europe.
