

The dynamic national carrier of Rwanda, RwandAir, has appointed a new board of directors under a new very experienced chairman, Mr Girma Wake, formerly of ethiopian Airlines. At the same time the expanding airline has announced plans to buy two new aircraft during summer 2012 to replace two 50-seater CRJ 200 aircraft currently in operation.
Alongside Mr Wake , Rica Rwigamba, Isabelle Kalihangabo, Caleb Rwamugaza; Laurence Mukarugwiza; Sudadi Kaitana; and Theo Demeyo Uwayu have all been appointed as Directors. RwandAir’s fleet currently consists of two Boeing 737-800s, two Boeing 737-500s and one Bombardier Dash 8 100 aircraft. RwandAir is based in the nation's capital, Kigali and flies to Libreville, Brazzaville, Entebbe, Lagos, Nairobi, Johannesburg, Bujumburra, Kamembe, Kilimanjaro, Dar es Salaam, Dubai, Mombassa and Gisenyi.
