Rwandair gets boost from Turkish connections

East African aviation is developing rapidly and one of the airlines which is key to the future is Rwandair.

It is already developing its base in Kigali as a significant alternative hub to Nairobi and this week we have learned of plans allowing it to make a significant leap forward through a new service into Kigali from Istanbul operated by Turkish Airlines.

The dynamic carrier, Turkish Airlines, which is now expanding quickly as well as winning awards for its service, plans to open the Kigali route by April next year. This new service will bring in passengers from over 142 cities worldwide and many will feed onto Rwandair's expanding regional network. Equally Rwandair will feed passengers from across the region onto the new long haul service.

Alternative Airlines has been working closely with Rwandair for a number of years and it is good to see the ambitions that were outlined in the early days of our relationship being fulfilled. In our opinion Turkish Airlines is a great choice of partner in a deal which makes sense for both airlines.
