Rwandair (they’ve just dropped the "Express " tag ) is a young, well run and growing carrier - backed by the Government and a central part of the National plan to make Rwanda the economic centre of the region. I met the CEO and the main members of the newly recruited managment team which are revolutionising the carrier and at the same time making Rwanda an easily reached, popular destination for Tourists looking for the sort of African experience which was once found in Kenya and Tanzania. My visit was too short - but I am determined to get back there as soon as I can - hopefully this will be on one of the new airline partners with which Rwandair are currently finalising codeshare agreements (Brussels airlines already signed up, Virgin coming soon) Tourism is a fashion business - destinations take off when people’s expectations are exceeded and they tell their friends ...
Rwanda is one place that I want to tell everyone about and I can confidently forecast that many other people will feel the same over the next few years. Whether its a main holiday checking out Rwandair’s famous gorillas or a side trip from a Kenyan or South African vacation - Rwanda is soon go
