Holidaymakers hoping to enjoy some time on the beach soaking up rays may want to head to Brazil on TAM Airlines flights to spend some time in Rio de Janeiro.
Lonely Planet author Kevin Raub said the destination is "synonymous" with sand and sun, noting that there are a plethora of attractions for visitors to take in.
As well as the Christ the Redeemer statue, which was named one of the Seven New Wonders of the World in 2007, there is the iconic Sugarloaf Mountain and the stunning Ipanema and Copacabana beaches.
"A journey to Rio de Janeiro has been romanticised over time by everyone from Hollywood to football fans to sun and sand junkies," Mr Raub commented.
He noted that there are options to suit a range of travellers whether they are looking for luxury and opulence or a budget break in the sun.
This comes after the publication's Heather Carswell recommended that travellers heading to Brazil on TAM Airlines flights consider going to Sao Paulo for the incredible nightlife.
