Regional Express (Rex) now fly Griffith to Melbourne

Regional Express (Rex) has resumed a six days per week service between Griffith and Melbourne.
The service will depart Melbourne at 10.30 a.m. and will return from Griffith at 12.00 noon on all days except Saturday, providing more than 20,000 seats per year between the two cities. Commenting on the resumption of the service which had been suspended since February 2008, a Rex spokesman said, “Rex has been looking forward to the re-commencement of this vital link between Griffith and Melbourne as we understand the importance of the air service to the economic and social fabric of the local Griffith Community. Now that we have responded to the request of the local community, we hope that we will have its full support so that we could grow this service even more to better suit business and social needs.” Regional Express (Rex) is Australia’s largest independent regional airline operating a fleet of 40 Saab 340 aircraft on some 1,300 weekly flights to 29 destinations throughout New South Wales, Victoria, Tasmania, South Australia and Queensland.
