

Growing Tanzanian carrier, Precision Air has signed up for $98 million worth of brand new aircraft from Italian-French manufacturer ATR. In total Precision Air will receive five aircraft, four of which will be 50-seat ATR 42-600s arriving in autumn 2012. plus one ATR 72-600 with 68-72 seats to be delivered in 2014. Precision Air Services currently operates 9 ATR manufactured aircraft and the new aircraft acquisitions will make it the largest operator of this type in Africa. It also operates 2 Boeing 737 jet aircraft.
Precision Air is based in the Tanzanian commercial centre of Dar es Salaam and flies to fourteen destinations through Tanzania and Africa. Important destinations served by Precision Air for European tourists are gateway airports Nairobi and Johannesburg plus Kilimanjaro International Airport which is used by trekkers heading off to climb Mount Kilimanjaro.
