Jet-setters travelling around Asia might benefit from the announcement that Philippines Airlines will be offering direct flights to India's capital.
The first flight between Manila and Delhi took off on March 27th and marks the first occasion that India and the Philippines have been connected by air since 1992, reports the Press Trust of India.
Six flights from Delhi will be available every week and each one will be on an Airbus 330-300 aircraft.
Jaime Bautista, president and chief operating officer of Philippine Airlines, commented: "The airlines would be offering 188,000 seats every year and expects that the number of Indian visiting the Philippines would rise from the present 32,817 to more than 50,000 by next year."
However, those hoping to explore the two countries might also benefit from the addition of the route to the Philippine Airlines schedule.
Last month, the carrier announced that it would be flying relief supplies to Japan for free.
