Today we got a really important announcement from one of our favourite Latin American carriers, TACA, who have added four new direct services from their base in Lima, to Miami, Mendoza, Antafagusta and Brasilia.

Then we got news that we have a new ticketing facility for the exciting low cost carrier, Star Peru. These announcements are welcome because from our British base, Peru is still the star performer in terms of the country most visited by British travellers. With its wonderful ruins (everyone should visit Machu Pichhu once in a life time.. including vikki my colleague who is itching to go trek there) and many other unique cultural experiences Peru may be the most explored, but it is still one of the world's most rewarding countries to visit. Flying domestically means that much more can be explored within short visits and air fares are low, however don't miss out on at least one Peruvian rail journey, even non-train enthusiasts cannot help but be impressed by climbing inclines and soaring terraces o each side of the track.
