Bangkok Airways cancels routes
Thailand’S largest private airline, Bangkok Airways, has announced the imminent suspension of four regional routes because of falling sales.
In a statement it has said that it will stop flying to Ho Chi Minh City in southern Vietnam, plus the two Chinese cities of Guilin and Xian and Hiroshima in Japan. It said the services to Ho Chi Minh City and Xian would stop on October 25 while flights to Hiroshima and Guilin would halt on October 27 and November 10 respectively. In June 2009 Bangkok Airways signed a code-sharing agreement with Air France to allow the French carrier to serve six new destinations in Asia on flights operated by its Thai partner. After the planned route closures, privately-owned Bangkok Airways, established in 1968, will serve 15 domestic and regional destinations
