airBaltic launch flights Riga to Warsaw and Pskov

The Latvian airline airBaltic is launching nonstop flights to the Polish capital city of Warsaw and the Russian city of Pskov from September 2009. The first flight from Riga to Warsaw will operate on September 17 and will be flown daily on Fokker F50 aircraft.

The first from Riga to Pskov will fly on September 1 and will be flown twice weekly on on Tuesdays and Saturdays again using Fokker 50’s.. . airBaltic Chief Commercial Officer Tero Taskila: "We are delighted that with the route between Warsaw and Riga, airBaltic will be entering one of the largest markets in the Baltic Sea region. The Pskov-Riga route, for its part, strengthens our foothold in Russia, where we already serve Moscow, St.Petersburg and Kaliningrad.

These new routes will allow customers to enjoy additional convenience. Passengers will be able to transit Riga on their way to destinations such as Berlin, Zurich, Venice, Vienna, Simferopol, Kiev, Tashkent, and others. " So far during the summer of 2009, airBaltic has added 10 new cities to its list of destinations - Palanga and Kaunas in Lithuania, Tartu in Estonia, Turku in Finland, Linkoping in Sweden, Tromso in Norway, Dushanbe in Tajikistan, Geneva in Switzerland, and now also Warsaw and Pskov. For summer, airBaltic is offering 55 nonstop routes to Aalesund, Almaty, Athens, Amsterdam, Baku, Barcelona, Bergen, Berlin, Billund, Brussels, Zurich, Dublin, Dushanbe, Dusseldorf, Yerevan, Gothenburg, Hamburg, Hannover, Helsinki, Kaliningrad, Kaunas, Kiev, Copenhagen, Kishinev, Kuopio, London, Linkoping, Milan, Minsk, Moscow, Munich, Nice, Odessa, Oslo, Oulu, Palanga, Paris, Rome, St.Petersburg, Simferopol, Istanbul, Stavanger, Stockholm, Tallinn, Tartu, Tashkent, Tampere, Tbilisi, Tel Aviv, Tromso, Turku, Venice, Vienna, Vilnius and Geneva
