The Russian Government has announced that it will create a new airline to be based in Krasnoyarsk by merging KrasAIr and Taimyr.
The Industrial giant ,Norilsk Nickel, is expected to invest U.S. $60 million to purchase new aircraft for the airline to operate with purchases to start in March 2011. The airline is expected to buy four French-made ATR-4 aircraft and four U.S built Boeing 737-700 aircraft. The new airline will be based at Krasnoyarsk’s Yemelyanovo Airport.
