Vietnam Airlines will launch a new service linking Hanoi and Fukuoka in southern Japan on October 10th 2009. The new routre will operate twice weekly on Tuesday and Saturday, using an Airbus 320 aircraft.
At the same time there will be a reduction in the number of weekly services between Ho Chi Minh City and Fukuoka, which will reduce to 2 per week. Fukuoka city is one largest cities in Japan with a population of 1.42 million. It is an economic and scientific centre for Japan’s south-western region, hosting world-renowned automakers such as Toyota, Kyushu, Nissan and Daihatsu. It is also home to 2,000 technological businesses and 600 semi-conductor producers.
