The Malian Airline (CAM) has changed its name and has now become "Air Mali", Abderhamane Berthé, chairman of the company announced on Friday 15th MAy 2009 in Bamako. "In this present context of competition between airlines, the reference of the country’s name is the most common practice.
That’s why countries with national companies associate their name with the company," he said, at a press briefing. "It is in this framework that CAM, aware of its results in only four operating years, has seized the opportunity given by Malian authorities to become Air Mali, " Mr Berthé added. Launched in April 2005, Air Mali flies to 13 capitals of Africa and Europe. The Aghan Khan group holds 51 per cent shares in the company, 20% is held by the Malian state, 21.66% by Agora Mali and 7.34% by private Malian companies.| < Prev | Next > |
