New Boeings leased by Ethiopian Airlines

 

Vacationers planning a trip to Africa on Ethiopian Airlines flights may soon be able to travel in the firm's latest acquisitions - a pair of Boeing 777F aircraft.

Flights to Addis AbabaThe planes have been leased by the firm from GE Capital Aviation Services and are the first of their kind to be used in Africa.

It is hoped that by utilising the vehicles, the airline will take a step closer to meeting its 2025 goals.

Each aircraft is a long-range modern freighter model that can carry hundreds of tons of cargo.

The new planes will be operated along Ethiopian Airlines routes over the next ten years in a deal signed by the firm's chief executive officer Tewolde Gebremariam.

Last month, those with flights to Addis Ababa may have been encouraged by a gong the carrier received for its reliability.

It scooped the Bombardier Aerospace 2010 annual airline reliability performance award for its impressive dispatch reliability, reported nazret.com.
