Myanmar Airways aircraftNational carrier, Myanmar Airways International, is benefitting from the rise in International arrivals through its home base at Yangon International Airport. International air arrivals to Myanmar rose by more than 20 percent during 2011, with about 66% of visitors coming from Asia. Also the Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) is forecasting an increase of a further 25% during 2012. Myanmar is also likely to benefit further from participation in the very active GMS (Greater Mekong Sub-region Tourism) group which includes Cambodia, Laos, Thailand and Vietnam.
