Montenegro Airlines customers might enjoy improved tourism in the future because officials have unveiled plans to improve the sector by working with Croatia.
Through an EU-funded cooperation programme, those with flights to Podgorica who want to go hiking, kayaking and take part in other outdoor pursuits might see these offerings improve in Montenegro, reports Balkans.com.
Commenting on the 18-month project, Enrique Aguado Asenjo from the EU Delegation to Montenegro said: "The project creates the environment for good neighbourly relations and sets up the conditions for joint activities of a common interest."
He added that the scheme could help to improve safety for holidaymakers visiting the region.
This will be achieved, in part, by developing mountain rescue services and producing a tour guide to help vacationers.
In June this year, film lovers from around the world will be converging on the country's Petrovaradin fortress for Cinema City, the International Film and New Media Festival.
