Mexicana, a member of the prestigious OneWorld alliance will be canceling all European services from 01st September 2010, this includes the daily service to Madrid as well as the service between Mexico City and London Gatwick also from 01st September 2010.

This move follows Mexicana filing for bankruptcy protection in the U.S. and Mexico on Monday 02nd August 2010 after failing to reach a new deal with its unions to cut costs after a period of rapid expansion. The sister airlines, Mexicana Click and Mexicana Link are independent of the parent company Compania Mexicana de Aviacion and consequently the bankruptcy proceedings will have no effect on the operations of these two carriers
UPDATE : Mexicana have now suspended the sales of tickets for Mexicana flights pending the outcome of the financial restructuring negotitions. 05th August 2010
