Mega Maldives the new long haul airline of the Maldives has received its operating certificate ready for a first flight in December 231st or January 01st.
Mega Maldives has a 264-passenger capacity Boeing 767- 300 aircraft and will start flights from the Maldives to Hong Kong on December 31 or January 1. The airline currently has nine pilots and approximately 70 employees, most of whom are Maldivians. The company aims to operate flights from Gan island to Male and Male to Dhaka, as well as flights to China and South Korea, in the future. Eventually Mega Maldives also plans to operate services to Europe.
