New research conducted by Travelmatch revealed more and more couples are taking four-week long honeymoons instead of shorter breaks when they marry.
Furthermore, their chosen destinations are changing, with locations such as Vietnam, Thailand and Sri Lanka experiencing a 25 per cent rise in bookings.
It is thought this is due to the fact they offer good value for money.
Founder of Travelmatch Alex Francis said it is "great to see couples choosing to turn their honeymoon into the trip of a lifetime - allowing them to see the world and experience a bit of adventure".
He also believes many newlyweds are going away for longer because they will be unable to afford it in the future, or will be tied down with a family.
Earlier this week, Vietnam.net reported that Vietnam Airlines is introducing new routes to cope with an expected surge in demand during the festival of Tet.
