

Movie fans from around the world may be set to converge upon Manila in August for the annual Cinemanila International Film Festival.
Philippine Airlines flights could be in demand during this month as film buffs travel to the region to watch some of the latest examples of Filipino and south-east Asian cinema.
The event is held at the Gateway Mall Complex and in the past it has drawn high-profile members of the movie industry, including Pulp Fiction director Quentin Tarantino, who received a lifetime achievement award in 2007.
Visitors who book flights to Manila will not be limited to watching films, as there will also be seminars and workshops held to provide people with more of an insight into the industry.
Last year, the best documentary feature gong went to The Cove, which told the story of how a group of activists tried to expose the events surrounding the herding of dolphins into a secluded bay in Japan by fishermen.
